Acts 14-15

No matter where in the world we go. Some will believe some say no.

Gods power will be seen then. As we speak of Good News for all men.

Though plenty of proof provided, opinion was still very divided.

Some joyfully accepted our view. Others strongly resisted the new.

When saw the power of Jesus. They said it just came from us.

We refused their acclaim, saying there is only power in Jesus name.

It had nothing to do. With your world’s accepted view.

This caused great offence. But we refused to sit on the fence.

Which made them oh so angry. Not able the obvious to see.

When to our church went back. Our message of freedom came under attack.

Saying you must follow the old way. That God revealed in our day.

But then at a meeting it was agreed. All had seen the outsiders freed.

Who were we to claim. Only we had salvation in Jesus name.

The church does only ask all of you, Bring honour to God in all that you do.

Mth. 4:8-17

Then when the devil says look all of you. At my seductive world view.

I have then to decide. To follow Jesus my fleshly desire denied.

As l serve him alone, he will make his will known.

That as we proclaim, there is only power in Jesus’s name.

From darkness you have come into light. Repent so you can now join the fight.

Though l know Gods kingdom, Jesus has already won.

Ps. 7:1-9

Save me Lord from sins effect. Only you are able to totally protect.

Come and please rescue me, from this world’s anxiety.

For when l have faced a test. I have tried my very best.

Yet I know that in the end, You my righteousness can defend.

So l your purpose can be a part. You can see the desire of my heart.

Prov. 11:3-6

Honesty sets you free. Gods purpose in life to see

April 21

Acts 12-13

When disaster does come. God rescues his special one.

When we pray to receive. Yet it is so hard to believe.

When escape to become free. Done by Gods angel so amazingly.

Those who oppose die. It is so obvious why.

Paul and Barnabas leave That the whole world can receive.

They go where they can teach, many believe as they preach.

But the religious reject , and the Lords followers do eject.

But those who deliberately oppose. So that nobody knows.

Are made blind, cannot the truth find.

While we travel on. Preaching all the way along.

All that God gave, finally in Jesus to save.

As we had come to expect, some would again reject.

So then we moved on, To help who Gods grace was upon.

Though some we did annoy, the believers were filled with joy.

Mth. 4:1-7

When tempted when they say. Why don’t you follow my way.

Though hungry and in thirst. Remember Gods word first.

For even though, you already know.

If he is on your side, of course he could provide.

But you should let it be known, you don’t live by bread alone.

But by Gods word, that you memorised when heard.

Even when they come and say, show us today.

The power of God to save. Don’t test God and deliberately misbehave.

Ps. 16

Lord keep me safe today, for l believe all you say.

Lead me right now then, To the good and godly men.

For you alone, have made known.

That l dwell in safety. I no longer need to worry.

You are the very essence , of joy found in your presence.

Prov. 11:1-2

The Lord detests dishonesty, but blesses humility.

April 20

Acts. 10-11

A Roman officer named Cornelius. Who had always been so good to us.

Yet I had been taught his like. That all christians must dislike.

Then I heard and saw. It was not like it was before.

I could no longer conceal. What the Holy Spirit did now reveal.

These people obviously know him. That all people God has chosen.

Not just for us few. Jesus came to know even the likes of you.

The gospel spread far and wide. Many came to hear then decide.

To join as they came to listen. They were then all called christian

Barnabas came and saw. Realised Paul he could no longer ignore.

These people then chose to give. So in a dire drought people could live.

Mth. 3:11-17

In the baptism of repentance. We recognise our own offence.

Jesus baptises with the Holy Spirit. With Gods spirit we are now blended.

So now he became really known. As Gods precious son alone.

Amazingly to hear and see. Joy in heaven as well as in me.

Ps. 103:13-22

God is like a dad to me. My weakness he does not seem to see.

Yet all know how weak we are. Once shining bright now a falling star

Gods love we can never severe, for we will live forever and ever.

Prov. 10:30-32 While the latest news may disturb. The righteous it does not perturb.

Sunday 19 April

Mth 1:18-21 Act 3:1-16. Philemon 2

As l read each story. I see Gods revealed glory.

How suddenly God was on display. In a totally unexpected way.

Girl Mary was to give birth. Healing by Peter who had nothing on earth.

Philemon his slave set free. I ask , what could the Lord do with me?

When an impossible need I do see, Gods power can now set free.

From some great infirmity. By a nobody just like me.

April 18

Acts. 8-9

What damage seemed done. Until Saul was won.

Yet as believers were scattered , tthe only thing that mattered

That the good news was heard , through the preaching of the word.

Phillip went to evangelise. Preaching the truth that never dies.

Then when Saul discovers his Lord. Is Jesus who he had abhorred.

Blinded into city he was led. Refusing to be fed.

Ananias was then told, despite what heard must be bold.

Heal Saul’s sight. He will now join the fight.

For it is he who will proclaim , there is salvation in Jesus’s name.

While Peter did the miraculous , astounding and causing such a fuss

So many came to believe. The Holy Spirit then to receive.

And so Gods church would grow. Jesus as Saviour all came to know.

Mth. 9:1-10

It was John the Baptists time, to insist all must fall in line.

Repent now all of you, should be ashamed of all you do.

Come and l will baptise, for a new season will arise.

For all that was before, now believers can ignore.

Ps. 193

Let all l am praise the Lord, For in his goodness sin is ignored.

Amazing all the things he does, as he heals and blesses us.

He is never too far, despite who we are.

Prov. 10:27-29

The contrast for all to see, the good and the bad in me.

April 17

Acts. 6-7

As Gods work on earth is done. There is a place for everyone.

Some who spiritually lead. Some who meet a human need.

Stephen was one appointed. He was particularly anointed.

Preaching and healing amazingly. People were amazed what they did see.

But the religious said it was not right. In Gods or their own sight.

Brought before them on the charge. Gods temple he did disparage.

To which he did reply. Your history tells us all why.

As l now explain to you. Nothing you do is new.

For as you have heard. You have always rebelled against Gods word.

This so angered them. For now he was such a problem.

He did just so annoy. Gods servant they determined to destroy.

While a young man Saul. We know as Paul. Watched him fall.

Mth. 2:19-23

Opposition gone it becomes known The Lord will come back home.

From the land of Egypt. Where have been in safety kept.

To be called a Nazarene. Just a nothing it would seem.

But Gods word did say. Nazareth would be important, one day.

Ps. 130.

From the depths of despair. I cry to the Lord in fear.

You know how I sin. There is just no way I can win.

Yet l know when l confess, I have his forgiveness.

I put my hope in his word, that all my life I have heard

I am totally counting on him. Who I have always put my faith in.

The fears of the wicked will be fulfilled. While the righteous with faith will be filled.

For his unfailing love. Comes down from heaven above.

Prov 10:24-26

April 16

Acts. 3-5

When people are amazed at a miracle. Intellectuals just ridicule.

Charge the people are deceived, by your actions now have believed.

Then you turn and say. You cannot deny what you have seen today.

A miracle as everybody can see. Christ you denied has set this man free.

Angrily they demand you must deny. For we know what you say is a lie.

But we ask just who should we obey. God or men today.

For you know what the word does say. Christ you rejected yesterday.

All know he died and rose again Now to take away all our pain.

Lord because we have caused this fuss. Everybody is against us.

But we are determined to say. What has happened today.

You are the God of heaven and earth. Be with us as we preach new birth.

Though some try to deceive. Even amongst those who believe.

Peter says they will die. So everybody knows just why.

That in fear of the Lord. His will cannot be ignored.

Then publicly they tell everyone. All that Christ has done.

Then they imprison the men But God comes to free them

To preach that the Lord does save. Yet they still hate how we behave.

Causing again such a big fuss. They warn us, then beat us.

But we continue to teach. For blessing is within everyone’s reach

Mth. 2:14-19

When our ruler does realise, The wise men his orders despise.

In rage he goes out to kill. Bible prophesy unknowingly to fulfil.

Many innocents sadly weep. But Gods promise, he did keep

Ps. 7

Thank you God for you are near. Everybody sees your amazing care.

Though the world does quake. I know it is so all might awake.

To stop boasting we don’t care, God we do not fear.

But l know that l have only won. Because of what my Lord has done.

Prov. 10:22-23

Bleesing of the Lord makes rich. The foolish end up in the ditch.

April 15

Acts 1-3:10

Jesus is alive today, listen now to what he does say.

Not yours to know when the enemy, will be defeated completely

Just wait here in Jerusalem. God will send the Spirit to you then.

To reveal truth and give power. To lead before all and to never cower.

Then Judas who turned away. Was replaced as Gods word did say.

The Holy Spirit came. To preach salvation in the name.

Of him they had crucified, when realised they were horrified.

Repent now all of you. God is now amongst you.

Come together to proclaim. There is hope and victory in Jesus name.

Amazed at all that had been done. Gods kingdom on earth had come.

Nothing like it seen before. As Galilean men came to restore.

They now were men of fame, as they healed in Jesus name.

Mth. 2:1-12

New birth as Jesus does come. Seen and heard by everyone.

In ways we did not expect and the authorities did reject.

But the word of God was clear, Jesus would be found there.

Amazing what we did see. Made as bow humbly on knee.

As we all our gifts did give. Our hope in God now to live.

Ps. 127

Unless God the house does build. With disaster it will be filled.

Without his protection must warn. All you build will be gone

Useless for you to work so hard. If God does not deal the card.

To desecrate his name. Leads to loss and shame

But God can give the victory, As we have seen in all of history.

Prov. 10:19-21

Learn just to be quiet. Then God will be in full sight.

April. 14

Joel 1-3

The locust has striped bear. For the Lord is not here.

No longer do we feel brave. For God doesn’t come to save.

Have lost. all hope. No longer can cope.

Then Gods word says. Must turn from your ways

We are filled with fear. See disaster everywhere.

The world Gods protection devoid. Everything is destroyed.

Lord says all that is mine. Must turn to me in time.

Tear your clothing in grief, then God will send relief.

His great love will be seen, as the Lord does redeem.

Must all over again , serve God as you proclaim.

The Lord comes to save, now you can be brave.

Now again to rejoice, for you now hear Gods voice.

Now you have confessed, You will feel again so blessed.

God will pour out his Spirit, For you see how to live in it.

As the whole world quakes , for the creator forsakes.

The world is then afraid, but Gods people are saved.

The time has finally come, when God will judge everyone.

Gods people see blessing as before , but disaster for those who ignore.

But Gods people then say, this is a marvellous day.

Mth. 18:18-25

Mary by Spirit did conceive,, Joseph struggled to believe.

The angel then came and said, believe for God will go ahead.

No longer need to be forlorn, For Gods saviour is to be born.

Choose to do what is right, even to the worlds dislike.

Ps. 43.

Declare me innocent oh God. Defend me against that sod,

Who is against all l do. As l am serving you.

Send down your light, give me uncanny sight.

Joy l will see today. Come what may.

Why be discouraged in what I do, when all my hope is in you.

Prov. 10:17-18

People who accept discipline, in the end are seen to win.

April 13

Jere. 51-52

In the end Babylon, that previously had always won.

Though strong and renown , They themselves will be torn down.

But God will now use Babylons power, to come and to devour.

All that we have built up, With siege ramps as their setup.

They break down our wall. As all our defences fall.

To take into captivity. To imprison, to kill , to put into slavery

What a terribly sad day. All because we refused Gods way.

Mth 1:7:17

Yet even then, God used some good and some despicable men.

To work his divine purpose out. So now we are left in no doubt.

That despite our disgrace. God is a God of loving grace.

For he is in control of all, despite man’s obvious fall.

Ps. 56

Oh God have mercy on me. You see that I am with the enemy.

They slander constantly. Yet l trust you to set me free.

What can mere mortals do, for l put all my trust in you.

They twist all that l do say, every step of the way.

Yet l will not be afraid, because of all the vows I have made.

For l am always in you sight. You bring from darkness into light.

Prov. 10:14-16

Wise listen to the Master. Babblers are a disaster.
