2Kings. 1-4
Elijah was sent to confront.
The king who was an affront
To God in so many ways.
Told it was the end of his days.
Elijah had no fear.
Realised his end was near.
Elisha saw that too.
Said l refuse to leave you.
Please won’t you bless me too.
So blessed right at the start.
As saw Elijah depart.
Elisha saw his world a mess.
But he came to bless.
Both the kings and the poor.
As the goodness of God they saw
Lk. 13:1-17
When all my hopes die.
Is it because of my faults l sigh?
Jesus say not so.
Though you face much woe.
As long as you repent.
My judgment l will relent.
And give you another go.
That your fig tree might grow.
For l came to restore.
Which others cannot ignore.

What a disaster I’m feeling
Constantly I’m appealing.
To Jesus who saves
I have seen how he behaves.
History and all my life.
He has comforted when in strife.
Led me in his ways.
All of my days.
