Will it really happen?

Sometimes we wonder, all those promises of old.

The hope, dreams, visions, will happen we are told.

Even in our own heart, something tells us, could be true?

But always feels that believers are so lonely, just so few.

Alone we seek the promises that inspire us each day.

To the world it seems things will never ever go our way.

Then I remember that old man who waited all his life.

Waiting for what was promised, while others just saw strife.

Simeon faithfully looking, yet everything still seemed the same.

Everyday he went on up to the temple, to worship once again.

Then one day this young couple with baby, amazed was he to find.

The hope of the world was in his arms, praises just filled his mind.

God had revealed his promise to the old man, giving hope to all.

Amazing praise, hope, ,light, glory and salvation was his clarion call.

Not alone was he, who had waited so patiently and so long.

Also in the temple that day , unnoticed in the busy throng.

Anna an old widow also waiting faithfully for this day.

Joyfully agreeing. Mary was  amazed at what she did say.

So as we wait, and wait, for what our heart has told us too.

And sometimes ask ourselves is it real, is it really true?

Just remember Simeon and Anna. For now we can concur.

They saw their hopes confirmed, so we will, as they were.

Those years of waiting and waiting seemed really nothing now.

A dream when fulfilled, the world will have to say again, WOW!

For God is still working with little known, and often overlooked.

Having time to seek the Lord, seems they are not so overbooked.

So this year may seem again, just another year of strife and turmoil.

Terrible news that make us mad, and from this world want to recoil.

Yet in my heart I wait and wait, for this I know, my dream is true.

I will see my God at work , even in the likes of me and you.

Just like that day in Temple court, while busy people went their way.

Simeon, Anna, Mary Joseph, watched amazed, as baby Jesus lay.
