1 Sam 8-10

When you want a king.

The Lord will then bring.

And grant you your desire.

Though land you in a mire.

He will seem just so good.

Although he hardly understood.

Any of the Lords ways.

He became different within days.

As soon as was appointed.

Was seen as Gods anointed.

Though even then.

Felt small among men.

Mth. 26:47-48

When our king was rejected.

Was not what we expected.

How do I react.

As others would detract.

Would scorn and abuse.

He’s not what they would choose.

Is was so hard to see.

I just wanted to flee.

Ps. 54

Save me Lord from those.

Who now come to oppose.

All that you have me do.

In the service of you.

As l have come to see.

So often have delivered me.

From the trouble and strife.

That’s been a feature of my life.

Prov. 21:18-21

If the Lord only you seek.

He will in safety keep.
